A flush is a 'crop' of mushrooms. Mycelium tends to send up fruits in groups, then a brief resting period, then another flush occurs. Flush has nothing to do with picking. Can you trip off mycelium? The lesson to be learned here is that you must wait at least 3 weeks AFTER full colonization before the mycelium produces enough psylocibin to trip off of.
How long does it take for mushroom cakes to fruit? Complete colonization to fruiting cycle start - within 2 weeks or more. Can you reuse mycelium? Mycelium mats cannot produce forever and will eventually give up. However, it is unclear where this point is for psilocybin mushroom-producing mycelium. Some growers report reusing their cakes at least eight times before encountering any problems, while others run out of steam after two reuses. What can I do with spent mushroom cakes? How do you reuse mushroom cakes?
By the time your cakes have stopped producing mushrooms, the perlite might start getting a little bit skunky smelling. If you want to reuse it, put it in a baking pan and cook it at degrees in your oven until it is dry. It's not an exact science but when you're tackling a bunch of monotubs it can start to get exhausting weighing everything and using exact measurements. I never had a problem yet and the second flush has always been weighty. I never did any dunking with my mono tub and I'm on my 6th flush and have had just a little over 8 oz total yield.
RiverDweller , Sep 10, Joined: Feb 5, Messages: I just dunked 46 tubs and it was a lot of work, really. I kind of took Major Myc's advice on dunking for a hour per inch of substrate - dunked for 4 hours having 3 inch substrate 1 extra hour.
I poured 1,5L bottle of water onto the substrate letting it fall everywhere on it and around it. Most of it stays around the substrate between trashbag liner and substrate.
I figured 1,5L, because it was just enough by not lifting the substrate. When having so many tubs then using those pipes or taking measurements would be overdoing it, I think.
Different story with few tubs though, right? It's how we did with Orthomolecular today. I hope that was a good enough way to do it, although not as economical towards water as major myc suggested. Vibration , Sep 10, Yeah you got the 'flushing' thing right. Yeah Trout is basically right, cakes are unpredictable though.
I have had cakes flush as many as 5 times and some flushes have been over 40G's wet. Then I have had some cakes that have flushed only 10G's wet. After you get the cake thing down, try crumbling and casing. You'll get the hang of it over time. Cheers guys, can't wait to start. Baphom3t Hero Member Offline Posts:
